Tree Introduces Angsana Spa

Singapore-based Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts is embarking
on another lifestyle venture which will significantly
enhance its premier position within the spa industry in
Asia.
Spearheaded by the same team who is marketing the award-winning
Banyan Tree resorts in Phuket, Bintan and the Maldives,
the launch of this new brand for Banyan Tree Hotels &
Resorts reflects the group's success and confidence in
the growing spa industry. |

Angsana
Spa will provide hotel and resort owners with a spa that
will be conceptualised, managed and operated by the Banyan
Tree team. Mr Ho Kwon Ping, Chairman of Banyan Tree Hotels
& Resorts said, "Due to the growth of the spa
industry in Asia, it is a sound business strategy to expand
our spa resort market which has been established by our
Banyan Tree Spas. That is why we have come up with the
Angsana Spa, which we will develop as an international
brand to offer to hotel owners."
In terms of interior design, the concept of Angsana Spa
is a more contemporary version of the Banyan Tree Spa.
However, the philosophy remains the same: a holistic,
non-clinical spa which relies heavily on aromatherapy
and sense of touch. The spa treatments and packages are
also priced significantly lower than its Banyan Tree counterpart.
Angsana Spa made its debut in Dusit Laguna Phuket in December
1999 and will open in Angsana Resort & Spa Bintan
in mid 2000, with plans to expand to other hotels, resorts
and country clubs in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond
within the next two years.
